International GirlsCup Bremen: A Weekend Full of Football, Laughter & Team Spirit

 The GirlsCup Bremen is a football tournament for girls from the E to B age groups, held from Friday to Sunday on a weekend shortly before the summer holidays. The event has been taking place annually since 2011 (except for two Corona-Years). On Friday, around 800 participants arrive with their teams and set up their own team camps on the club grounds. At dinner time, the organising team is providing a barbecue dinner with sausage and salads for everyone. With the sports facilities, the nearby Werdersee, and the Stadtwerder peninsula, the first evening already offers plenty of opportunities for adventure.

On Saturday morning, all participants enjoy breakfast together in the marquee. The tournament begins at around 10:00 a.m. At lunchtime, the volunteer fire brigade from Neustadt arrives with their traditional “goulash cannon” to serve spaghetti bolognese and pesto for everyone. The first tournament day concludes with dinner, which teams organise themselves—either by ordering from our club restaurant, ordering from other restaurants or going out to enjoy the city.

The second tournament day also starts with breakfast in the marquee. Until midday, the girls compete for the coveted GirlsCup trophies and medals. After lunch, the award ceremony, and the team photos in front of the GirlsCup banner, the teams take down their tents and gradually begin their journeys home
